Hello! Amanda and Allison here. Thanks for coming to our about page!

We're a queer couple currently living in Austin, Texas with our cat, Lily, and our dog, Ralph. We both grew up in Spokane, Washington, and moved around a bit until we both settled in Austin in 2020. 

​

Amanda considers herself to be a later-in-life lesbian after realizing she was queer at 30-years-old, and Allison is a non-binary queer person who grew up heavily indoctrinated in church culture. Although our coming out stories are pretty different, one thing we had in common was that we both had a hard time finding information that could help us understand what it meant to be queer when we were first coming out.

We created the Sapphic Life Guide podcast to be the resource we wish we had when we first came out of the closet. 

 

In each episode, the two of us and our guests will talk about things we've learned since coming out like how to navigate complicated family situations, how to recover from religious trauma, how to flirt with girls, how to make queer friends, and everything in between.

 

Our goal for our podcast is that it will help other people feel empowered and supported in their coming out story instead of having to navigate coming out all by themselves.
